The development of Horton Plaza was enormously influential in the revitalization of downtown San Diego. Developed by the Hahn Company, Horton Plaza was designed with whimsical architectural flair not typically found in urban shopping malls.

• Created landscape and hardscape design to carry unique theme into central mall corridor
• Topiary hippos, covered with clinging vines, dance across Terraza paving and around classical wall fountain
• Wall planters and hanging baskets of cascading flowering plants provide accent to the use of vivid color and form in architectural details
