We just finished a wonderful rooftop garden project at 330 A Street in downtown San Diego. The retrofitted one story building (formerly a bank) has been redesigned as a unique flexible office space where you can rent a portable office including cubicles, video conference rooms and seminar rooms on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. The new space, known as “Co-Merge” was developed by Michael Kenny & Associates with Carrier Johnson Culture as lead designer. 

Our firm’s effort included design collaboration on the following:

• Street front patio environment located on A Street featuring a beautifully sculptured fence, large planters and individual seating arrangements. 
•  Green rooftop garden and deck space.  Rooftop planting, designed using sedum trays provided by LiveRoof, surrounds a raised wood deck with lounge seating and umbrellas.  
• Rooftop planters, filled with multi-colored and multi-textured material, provide visual interest and beauty.
• Outdoor lighting provides a welcoming environment to enjoy the rooftop garden in the evening hours.
•  Large, vibrant colored green spherical planters complement the drought tolerant, low maintenance plant palette and add a whimsical touch to the rooftop garden.  

Paul Basile (Basile Studio) provided both indoor and outdoor sculptural elements including street front fencing, interior doors and walls, and large oval rooftop planter.
