Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA)

With potable water becoming an increasingly scarce resource here in the Southwest, it is imperative that landscapes both in the present and the future be designed and maintained to make the most efficient use of the water that we have.

With this in mind, the irrigation association has developed a few certification programs, aimed at helping those designing and maintaining landscapes. One such program uses baseline standards (of water usage) which were created by looking at such factors as plant types, soils, evapotransporation, sun exposure, etc. This all-inclusive approach takes these factors into consideration and implements them into a single standard which will ultimately increase irrigation system efficiency, decrease water use, and thus decrease water bills for property owners.
